liking the look of one of these.
if i was the kind of numpty that i'm usually not, honest, and got some sealant into it, is there any way to clean it out?
come to that is there any way to clean (dissolve) sealant out of clogged presta valves?
i was curious about this too. have used mine for about 8 months now though, at least twice a week, without any problems.
i always put the valve at 3 or 9 o'clock and give it a quick blip before i put the gauge on.
it will probably explode now!
You can pick the bits out, but Ive found you get maybe a couple of years then its for the bin.
i usually try to give it a quick blip and 5 minutes, but sometimes, i forget as i'm in the middle of doing something else; i've just turned the bike over for example
never had an issue with this, in fact never thought it was a problem 🤔
ah great thanks phil H. jobsagoodun then
Just found this thread, I've been getting low readings from mine recently, seemed OK initially, I've just taken it apart to the extent the service kit would replace and everything looks nice and clean so I can't imagine there's sealant further in. Without anything to benchmark it against its difficult to tell, but when I pump up a 2.3x29 to pretty hard, i'd guess about 30psi, it says 16, which I'd say would be obviously soft. My track pump has an analogue dial but seems to be for road bikes and doesnt seem to register anything until about 60psi.
Is it just faulty? I know they've got a 2 year warranty and I've only had it since spring, but it was a gift so hard to return without receipt.
Sorry for the rambling hijack.
Pink - could be that there is a small Stans Monster attached to the valve in the tyre or the valve core itself has some stand blocking the air.
Only saying as I had a problem with my pressure gauge the other week, turned out it was Stans on the rubber bit of the valve in the rim

Thanks Carlos, although it's more than one tyre, in fact more than one bike. Just generally reading low.
Ah, in that case its prob the gauge.
I can't see the picture but would something like this foam gun cleaner suffice?
