Road question, but what brings the colour up on mucky road tyres?

I found a bit of neat fairy liquid did the trick, but bare in mind that you want to wash it off pretty well afterwards.

Cif cleans my trainers up pretty well, not tried it on tyres but reckon it should work.

I find muc off to be weak to the point of uselessness nowadays, bit of an expensive waste.
Will try neat fairy liquid + toothbrush!

You have enough free time to clean your tyres with a toothbrush?

Soaps/detergents need water to work - it's actually the water that does the cleaning with the detergent breaking the surface tension. Also the item to be cleaned needs to be wet (which will give it a -ve charge) so that the (also) -ve charged soapy water can carry away the dirt.

In laymans' terms: water brings the fairy liquid alive!

If they are folding tyres, bung them in the washing machine with the rest of your biking kit.

^^ don't do that with cotton ply sidewall's...

I use washing up liquid and a pan scourer, not a harsh one just a normal "green & white" one..
