Hose will be fine once it's not doing a loop-de-loop around the head-tube!
Did you encounter it in the wild and put the owner out of his/her misery? Looks like a nicely-specced bike apart from the unusual geometry.
What's the front tyre tread direction looking like?
What’s the front tyre tread direction looking like?
Fine if the forks were pointing in the right direction?
Not sure about that hose
Or the disc running backwards?
Is it just me, or is the front tyre and/or wheel smaller than the rear, for reduced aero drag? 😆
Saw the exact same setup the other week at Dalby, was internally excruciating and nearly said, something, wish I had in hindsight.. Must be awful to ride!
Looking closer at the forks, whoever's riding it has already had an off.

Why didn't you? Not safe to let someone continue riding like that.
Yes, pointed it out to the guy, apparently he'd took it off his bike rack where he has to turn the bars to make it fit. He'd then "straightened" the bars and hadn't noticed the ride was any different on the 10 miles he'd ridden with then like that!
I did tell him the forks were fine, it was the frame that was the wrong way round....he didn't laugh 😀
Forks put back to correct orientation before he carried on.
Says a lot for the Boardman's neutral handling I guess if it's no different whichever way the fork is fitted 🤔
I saw a family at a cafe the other week with what looked to be a brand new kids bike, forks on the wrong way round.
I apologised for being "that guy" but did point out that they were back to front. The mother said she would inform her husband - I'm guessing he may have built the thing rather than Halfords.
Felt bad saying something - normally I'd let minor stuff slide, it's none of my business for things like saddle height etc but with forks the wrong way round that's a bit more serious.
Bikes are more stable with negative trail. I’d be more worried about the disc brake action though.
I couldn’t leave the one I found in our bike shed at work. I swapped them around and left a note.
No idea what you guys are complaining king about, that’s just one of them thar Manitou Forks with the backwards arch 😜

My lads mate and his dad came for a ride a few weeks ago. Just along the lanes.

6 years old.
He had been riding his Halfords bought bike with the forks the wrong way round since he got it last Christmas.
Apparently it was built by the staff ready for Xmas.
Said to feel a lot better to ride now.
Poor really. I've had a few Halfords bikes in recent years: 2015 bizango (great bike), a Carrera vengence for the missus' once a year ride and a cosmos for the boys. All of which I've refused to let them build.
We laugh, but it could be potentially quite unsafe if the stem bolts haven't been suitably re-tightened. I also wonder whether he'd have known to re-tension the headset.
I was in Halfords years ago with my now-wife looking at a bike for Her and the young lad took the bike down off the rack, straightened the bars and then proceeded to secure them by tightening down hard on the headset cap bolt. If I hadn't pointed out the stem bolts he may have let Her test ride it like this.
I would assume that Halfords would be liable for injury caused by ineptly set up bikes?
Remember when headset caps were nylon to prevent exactly that sort of idiocy?
Bikes are more stable with negative trail.
No, they're not.
And having ridden with forks backwards (for science) I can confirm this.

The guy was very grateful when I saw him a couple of days after he'd corrected
I saw a kid and her parents outside a shop whilst waiting for my kid. Forks on backwards. I pointed this out, and the kid and mother turned to the dad and said "See??! I told you!". He only conceded after I pointed at our bikes and all the others outside the shop.
Once bumped into some yoofs who'd ridden about 8-9 miles to the seaside on their just slightly better than BSOs.
One Rockrider had a whiff of Halfords about it and I asked whose it was and pointed out the issue.
Cue plenty of pisstaking by his mates - turns out he'd been catching his feet on the front wheel all the way down there. How he didn't come off I don't know. Built by grandad apparently. To be fair, it had a reverse brace by design and I can understand why it'd throw someone.
'Collected' another one this morning on the school run.
"I told my husband something wasn't right!" 😁
She still didn't invite me back for coffee though.
And having ridden with forks backwards (for science) I can confirm this.
Anyone who has ever pushed a shopping trolley knows this too.
Why would you want a bike that abjectly refuses to go where you want, insists on running into other bikes and the outer edge of every route you attempt to take, before rolling away as soon as you let go of it?
