Does any body out there have any experience of the Clarks mechanical road discs? I've currently got BB5s and they're not great, and I think the static pad adjusters have seized, so was looking to go to some budget Shimano R317s, but saw these and thought they may be a viable alternative?
Note, I'm not looking to switch to hydraulic, and will be replacing cables with compression-less ones to see if that improves the braking.
Anyone had some OEM? Or bought as an emergency replacement?
These are the ones I mean:

Cheers,

They are, at best, ok.
i fitted a set to someone’s bike, I wasn’t overly impressed, it wasn’t easy to get them lined up straight.
My opinion would be that absolutely anything made by shimano would be a fair bit better. However, ymmv, maybe i had a duff set etc.
of course maybe im too fussy as well.
Not had them but know people who have and they all seeem to rate trp spyres
Please don't buy the clarks ones.
Mine require adjusting every month & on two occasions the cables have snapped under hard braking due to the cable wearing against the cable holder apeture as it dont swivel freely to follow the mechanical arm
Thanks All, won't be buying those then!
Those Spyres are a good price, but unfortunately are known to have issues coming into contact with the spokes on some wheel/frame combinations, so I'm going to have to pass.
Thanks again all!
I've always been happy with BB5s.
They do suffer with road salt corrosion, but so do most disc calipers on a road bike. You can scrub 'em clean w/sand paper,or replacements are cheap enough.
Got 'em on 2 of my bikes.

I have hayes mechanicals on my cx bike.
i bought them as my wife’s cx bike came with the same ones, they are hayes cx expert, they are a highly polished finish. Couldn’t fault them tbh.
