My son's bike appears to be suffering from Leaky Shimano Calipers, it has the classic M615 brakes but no amount of cleaning pads/rotors will stop the squeal or actually make the brakes work reliably.
So, I'm planning on replacing them with Clarks M2, 60 quid both ends. Bargain!
But the levers are not as nice as the M615 levers, which have great travel adjust, are nice and short, and flip open (useful as the bike doesn't have lock-on grips). Anyone know if the hose dimensions and pressure are the same so I could use M615 levers with M2 calipers?
Don't know but if you do this and it works I might be interested in the M2 levers 🙂
Yes, it will work. I did similar on my sons bike, he refers to them as Sharks brakes now.
Great, thanks. I might have some spare levers in a month...
Cool pm me when you're done - I have a set of m3's that won't bleed properly due to shit levers so an m2 lever transplant should work nicely 🙂
Or I suppose I could sell you the M3 brakes and you could put the M3 calipers on your deore levers....
