How?

Can they be done without then needing to bleed / top up? What do you cut the hose with? How do you stop fluid spilling everywhere? Disconnect from lever first then cut?

The brakes were supplied with the spare olives ... Which way round are they inserted into the hose?

Do I need a specific bleed kit? Have a Shimano one plus fluid ... Can I use that?

Take to LBS??? 🙄

Well, that's a lot of questions.

Short answer is yes you can do it without bleeding, same procedure as shimano. Pump pistons out a bit, remove hose from reservoir end, cut, fit new olive, refit hose to reservoir, push pistons back in.

I did mine using this procedure, worked fine.

Cut the hose using gear cable cutters, not sure what you mean about which way round the olive goes? thought they were a combined olive and barb, so they can only go one way?

What was supplied with the brakeset was the brass object (hose insert?) from this kit ...

I assumed that was the 'olive' ... is that all I need (presumably I can reuse the M5 nut and boot cover already fitted to the brake hoses?
