But very enjoyable in a strange way

Went to a dig day at Stainburn and not knowing what to expect but was made very welcome by the regulars and had a great day me and Paddy the bastid dog

had a very varied day digging / foraging for stones/ wheelbarrowing hardcore to various sites / digging some more and learnt a heap about trailbuilding
And met a very friendly bunch of folks

I will be back for some more hard labour next dig day 😀

Well done for putting a bit back. Wait till you get out and ride a bit of trail you helped build...very rewarding. 😀

Wheelbarrowing, aaargh... We're in the middle of the fun bit at Glentress just now, unearthing routes, planning and cutting new lines, but every bit we get completed takes us another day closer to Wheelbarrow Hell 😐

spent the full morning being dragged down steep trails by a wheelbarrow myself this morning, they can shift when they're full.

A cracking turnout at Stainburn today. Turns out Troutie can graft like a good un as well as turn night to day!

If anybody else fancies it, it's the first Sunday of the month and it's always sunny..

3 hours of trailbuilding (QECP) sandwiched in middle of 25miles ride today. Trailbuilding and gardening yesterday as well and my back is hurting, another sleepless night I expect, doh! That'll be a wasted £40 at Chiro's last Thursday then 😳

Dead easy, just turn up 🙂 The next scheduled session is the 19th of November, we meet at 9am in the furthest corner of the Hub carpark, by the old toilets/offices.

We usually work through til 1pm and then have a disgustingly huge lunch followed by a really lazy ride. At the moment there's a big re-route in progress on Pennel's Vennel, good time to join up I reckon (we spend a fair amount of time on repairs, new builds are far more fun)

I won't be there 😳 because of the enduro race the same day but there'll be assorted other singletrackers no doubt, just say hello and someone should point you to Andy the ranger to sign up and get the introduction chat.

Drop me an email on andrew@blackjack.f9.co.uk if you want more details.

Sorry trout, but seeing Paddy 'helping' with the barrowing today was properly funny. 😉 Hopefully you'll get him trained up for next time. I was impressed with what we got done in such a short amount of time. Well worthwhile!

Big hand to all the regulars, first timers, sporadicals and random attendees that made it to the Stainbun woods today. A lovely day in oh, so many ways including the fantastic amount achieved and the glorious November (bonkers) weather.

A very good day 😎
