Removed the forks from my wife’s ancient Santa Cruz for servicing, and the split ring in the Chris King “griplock” headset snapped in two pieces. I think it will still function okay as it’s now two close fitting wedges instead of a split ring, however does anyone know if this part can be purchased separately? Looking online it seems like they only sell crown races and top caps as spares from what I can see.

You'd get one from Aspire Velotech.

Not sure you'd want to pay for shipping from the states though.

Might be worth emailing them I'm sure they've do me cheaper shipping on very small parts in the past.

I got a ti CK fitting 45degree split-ring off ebay a few years ago. Can't find any there now but these seem the same:

You can buy spares direct from the UK importer (saddleback). They were really helpful (on web chat and phone) when I needed some grip lock bits recently. Ordered Friday, arrived Monday. saddleback.co.uk
