Hi everyone, I am afraid that this is a pleading post.

Some of you may remember that two years ago some friends of several forum members were among the four people killed in an avalanche in Glencoe. One of these was my old racing partner Chris Bell. Less than a week after the event I raced the Strathpuffer in his memory to raise money for the Mountain Rescue teams involved with the incident, including Glencoe, Lochaber and Oban.

The campaign started on Singletrack and the generosity and support of the forum was staggering. By the final hour of the race themselves donations rose over £20,000. It's been very emotional going through the threads and news again and Chris is very sadly missed. I would also like to thank everyone who donated last time, the generosity meant a lot to his friends and family and kept us going through a difficult few weeks.

I come cap in hand for more. I have entered the puffer again and will be racing as Chris Bell Racing again. I don't expect the same support as last time but if you can spare anything it will help me roll out of my tent at 3am in the snow and live up to the motto Chris invented for our cycling club- "Give it death", and hopefully add to the special fund that was set up by the MR teams to invest in training as a result of the last fundraiser in the memory of Chris, Tom, Una and Rachel.

You can donate here-

There is some background to the story here-here-

Thanks very much.

You will have no problems getting out of your tent at 3am. Give it death.

"TOP 5 RIDER COMING THROUGH. KEEP CALM AND MOVE TO THE SIDE"

Never gets old.

I had the pleasure of guiding alongside Busty and Chris at BV, still can't believe they're no longer here.

Donation made, good luck

No offence, and I wish you well, but one the minimum suggested donation is set at £10, when I put in £5 it would only let me log in with Facebook, I don't want others to know what I do or who I give to, your choice I guess.

Cheers.

Funny as I was just being my jolly self and trying to give without shouting about it, I'm glad you have worked it out.

No idea why it is doing that, I set no minimum donation. People donated as little as £1 last year. I will sort that as soon as I can. Thanks for letting me know.

If I were you munrobiker, I'd make the donation myself and stay at home after a threat like that from the Enforcer...

Done. I was guided by Chris and Tom at Bike Village in 2010 and they were just brilliant guides and great guys. Good luck at the Puffer!

Thanks Boris- quite a few people who were guided by Chris and Tom seem to have fond memories of them. I don't think I've known anyone that loved riding their bike as much as Chris.

Tried to donate, it seems to want me to register. Won't let me proceed without a password.

Just so those of you who donated know the Puffer team have given the takings from the bucket at the exit to Glencoe MRT on behalf of Chris Bell Racing, so if you chucked anything in- thanks! This has just tipped the total funds raised with gift aid to a smidge over £25,000.

I tried again yesterday. It found my email ok. Then it couldn't find my credit card issuer, Nationwide. I wonder where they're hiding.

There are some times where it's easier just to give up. Is this an oldie thing?

Not sure really, I've donated to my own page four times now and not had any problems. Unfortunately my knowledge of how justgiving works is pretty much zero- I've looked at all the settings I can tweak and there's not many, and none related to payment.

I'm not falling for SoGs attempts to get me to donate in order to diagnose his problem....
