Stolen bike. Seatpost was cut through to remove lock. Fablon to "disguise " it.

I reckon it was probably made like that. There are plenty of road frames without seat tubes - I can't think of an MTB one off the top of my head but I'm sure they must have existed at some point. Obviously it's got a terrible carbon wrap but it looks like a carbon frame. Remnant of seat tube for front derailleur.

Surely an e-type BB could have been incorporated into such a design, removing the need for a seat tube stump?

Scotroutes theory seems on the money to me. It is in Sunderland after all. 😆
