Taking the idea of the old school Goosebumps 'choose your own adventure' storybooks and applying it to a bike ride. A crowdsourced bicycle adventure idea. A start point, mileage and budget is determined by the rider then the rest is down to STW.
Each new commenter gets to plan one mile of the route and any stops, diversion, shops, points of interest to visit in that mile. Use google maps, strava etc. to dictate the next step and the rider shares a public link to a map of progress. To avoid the suggestions piling up and getting out of hand, a route suggestion/comment needs to be authorised/acknowledged by the rider before the next comment can be added. Any comments added before authorisation will be discounted.
A mileage is defined so when that is reached the suggestion are stopped (e.g. 30 miles = 30 comments). A budget is set too. This will cover train journeys, cafe stops, shop visits, point of interest fees etc.
Once the route is finalised the rider then goes out exploring and takes loads of pics.
No doubt this would turn into an endless list of ridiculous suggestions but I guess that would be the beauty of it!
Is this a bit weird? Is it verging on a bike voyeurism fetish? Anyway...
Anyone brave enough to give it a go?
You get a puncture, do you fix it or replace the tube and wing the old one up a tree?
Neither, walk to the nearest station as you didn't bring a spare.
