I normally don’t need as much as 3l, 2 would normally be fine but I see the design of the 2.5 is quite different from the 2 or 3 in the current range. It’s going in a Zealot that will take 3l.

Just wondered what people’s thoughts were about the difference between the hard plastic back or the chevrons?

All the hard plastic does is make it easier to slide the bladder in to the pack.

Buy whichever size suits your need.

I've got a 3ltr one with the hard plastic that goes in my Raptor 10 and it slims down nicely when I only fill it 1/2 full for my shorter rides.  Much better at holding it's shape with different water volumes than my previous CamelBak bladder was.  You can always underfill it but adding capacity is always tough with a 2ltr pack.

Love my hard back Osprey 3 litre bladder. Much better than my 1.5 litre (soft) Osprey bladder.

I rarely fill the 3 litre with more than 1.5 litres.

Hard-back style for the win IME.  So easy to take in and out.
