Depressingly, even at this time of year it's starting to get dark on the way back from mid-week rides and it's time to dig out the lights. I have a couple of cheap Cree lights from Amazon, whilst whilst I know aren't the best seem a better option to use and replace than 6 times the cost for something 'proper'.  Apart from waterproofing the only problem I really have is the silly mounting system with the rubber band that leads to all too regular requirements to grab and twist back in to place after every bump.  Has anyone found a good bodge to put a better mount on?

I must have had about 4 or 5 sets of "Cheap" Cree lights over the years, and every time something has failed, the lights, the cable, the batteries, the mounts, sometimes I've come to use them again after the summer and they simply didn't work. I bit the bullet and dropped a reasonable sum on an Exposure Diablo and haven't looked back. No cables, multiple modes, excellent UK based support and warranty, quick to charge, and more than likely safer than some of the stuff sold on Amazon Marketplace that comes from China. Plus think of all the waste of resources from lights that keep breaking. Anyway the longest lasting "solid" mount that worked was from C and B seen. What type of Cree light is it?

Even this gave up the ghost eventually but it was certainly the best mount I had for the cree lights.

I can vouch fir exposures cystomer service.

Repaired my revo when i might have put the input in the output...

Also mountainbike batteries.

I jave cheap lights too but on more than one occasion they've let me down. You want a light that works when you need it.

I put bungee loops on the helmet. Held them perfectly.

They're still on there as backups in case the proper light fails.

I’ve fitted Lumicycle and Hope QR brackets to a variety of lights over the years. It’s always worked well
