Hello,

I was wondering if people had any gems of chinese websites I could peruse, that actually have costs without having to contact them.

I was looking to buy a frameset from flyxii (FR-602) but it appears to have gone out of stock. Websites I know about are:
http://www.flyxii.com/
http://www.velobuildmall.com/
http://www.asiancyclexpress.com/
http://aliexpress.com/

This is to replace a Planet X London Road in large that's erm gone missing? 😯

I'm 6ft/33" inside leg and trying to find a disc braked carbon frame with internal routing, enough room for 28c tyres and robust enough for London's potholes.

Any help much appreciated 😆

Got mine on Aliexpress.

Does the FR320 take 28c tyres, or even 25c?

They don't seem to do them in 58cm http://www.flyxii.com/en/products/flx-fr-320.html

it is fine with 25c , currently having Tufo 25 tubular .

but not a lot of room left , doubt 28 would fit .

they used to have a cyclocross model .

Yeah, they used to do a FR-602:

Which is the same as the Ribble CR3:

Not sure I like the geometry though..

Hong Fu and Deng Fu? Isn't 'FR' the designation of an 'open mould' which people like them and flyxii source, and isn't necessarily made in 1 factory owned by any of them?

I think there's quite a lot of turn over on frame designs, some stick around for a few years but others can get superceded quite quickly.

No prices on those, although Deng Fu certainly list on Ali Express (who also do Topcashback). Love my FM208.

these people have prices on their ebay aus' listings - though i think they look a bit steep when you consider what sort of prices frames must be bought at by those co's that sell finished bikes, something to work backwards from if asked to name a price - not seen one of their frames but wheels seem well thought of:

don't forget to add duty and then vat on top of frame + shipping costs

I can vouch for ICAN in terms of quality and responsiveness when dealing with them.

Cheers, I'm registered with Ican but I still can't seem to see their prices?

Being 6ft would you go for a 57cm on this:

My normal bike is a 58cm F95:

And the PX large was:

Kind of want something in between the two..if not a little bit more like the felt.

Hoping that that will fit 26/27mm Vittoria Pro Tech tyres. 😈

Actually I've just been chatting with ICAN, and their prices seem quite reasonable $415/frameset + $59 shipping.. No prepaid import duties though.

Quite liking the look of the AC109..

I'm expecting import duty to be around £30-50, is that reasonable?

This is a bit of a minefield 🙄

In theory, you'll pay VAT and duty on the complete consignment cost, so the cost of the goods + shipping, so taking a consignment cost of $474 they'll add say, 8% duty, taking it to $512 and then add VAT taking it to $614, so $140 duty + vat =~ £90. Sometimes I've paid nothing and the last consignment I had shipped was $500 but only paid £40 - go figure? Royal Mail who do the UK customs clearance for UK EMS shipments seem to be getting a bit smarter - 10 years ago, stuff would come straight through with no charges and I reckon I'm still a few quid up over the years.

Do you have any pictures of your bike built up + what size did you go for (inc your height if you don't mind)?

😈

I've been chatting to Melody there, she seems helpful.

I think I've finally decided on the Ican AC109 58CM as it seems to match my Felt's geometry the most.

Also not sure on the reversing Fork of the AC059?!

Ah ha, they have no more BSA frames left in 56/58cm.

Back to deciding whether I should get a 55cm or 57cm AC059?

Any thoughts?
