I'm sure this has been done before, but searched and couldn't find anything.

Has anyone tried/got one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124869362759?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A13FilzVw9SB2oOkHtolUUPw59&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=124869362759&targetid=1647205088520&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006645&poi=&campaignid=17206177401&mkgroupid=136851690655&rlsatarget=pla-1647205088520&abcId=9300866&merchantid=6995734

They seem too cheap to be any good, but look quite decent in the pictures at least.... anyone got any wisdom on them?

TIA.

Dave.

Just bought one. I’m sure it won’t be workshop quality but fine for home use being used a couple of times a year

Yes, it's pretty good for a home mechanic who uses it from time to time. Can't go wrong for the money

Press is a press, as long as its the right diameter and not made of play doh it'll be fine.

It's the extractor you want to work right.

The drifts are pretty soft metal but fine for home use, especially for the price.

Have the same set and it’s perfect for home use. Have done about 4 frame bearing replacements with it so far. I also use it in combination with a socket set to remove bearings.

@feed my issue is more with blind bearings, if you can press them out crack on!

Be cheaper from aliexpress and lots of stuff only takes 12 days from there now. The last few orders I've had have been sub 10 days. Lots of the stuff you seen in Amazon eBay etc are just reselling from aliexpress. Toopre risk etc

You've already ordered, but I have this set. It seems solid. I haven't used it yet though. Was easy to buy bearings based on code numbers. Bought some cheap full-suss frames with a couple of gritty bearings in each. Just too lazy to change them yet, because they 'work'. Could be the low-end DNM shocks that mean I can't feel the lack of smoothness 🤪

The price is fine. They're the same price for the no-nane variants on Taobao in China, 180rmb. The Toopre branded ones cost 210rmb.

I have the same kit, the box is properly crap, very brittle but the tools are all fine. You can buy the actual press bits separately or at least in smaller kits, and use a nut-and-rod press setup instead if you want to save a few pennies.

As above I've got one, that colour, used a good few times made things a lot easier. Probably not for daily toil but good enough for me.

Yep, I’ve got one too. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Done one set of wheel bearings and a set of frame bearings and it’s paid for itself.
