I went on an evening MTB ride last night, and was trying to find "China Pig" on Box Hill.
I couldn't find it.

I think it's the right hand line on this group, just following the tree line on the left of the long thin gap between the two wooded sections here.

But when I searched, I couldn't find the trail at all, and ended up going down Juniper Top/Juniper Bottom instead.

Has anyone done China Pig (aka Moss Side I believe) and can help me to find the start?

Take the path directly opposite the Smith and Western. Generally keep right with a fence on your right and that should guide you in. Great track.

As above, head along the BW across the road from Smith & Western, take the first turn off it on your right, and stay right. There are a couple trees down but diversions have been worked around them.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure that's what I did, but it looked like it was going nowhere.
I'll try again with more determination!

Juniper Top/Bottom was quite fun anyway, and it was in the evening, so there weren't any kids on the play areas!

Yay, I found it. I hadn't kept right for long enough last time.

It's bloody narrow in places isn't it?
I must admit, I don't have the stones (or the skills) for some of the really hairy bits, so I got off and pushed!

China Pig has had a little trail maintenance this weekend, so some of the trees that were either ridiculously low or protruding from the sides have now gone, the flow is back.

Its a lovely little trail. Just don't try riding it in the rain. Gets a bit technical at that point! Now go and find the trails on Mickleham (up on the ridge directly opposite the car park at the end of CP). They are much more fun.

Have the Mickleham Pixies done the same to Reigate Hill? Whoever is building these things, I doff my cap to you Sir / Madam.

As above, China Pig gets quite sketchy in the wet. Nice trail, seems to go on for bloomin' ages too.

Those lines on the Mickleham ridge are fun. At least 3 of them IIRC. Drop your saddle at the top if you don't fancy a wedgie 😉

muddyground, are those RH trails to the east of the Inglis Memorial? Petty steep I imagine, if that chalky bit beneath it is anything to go by.

No - cheeky hidden things that you REALLY have to sniff out. No jumps or drops, just slightly crazy steepness. They look a similar construct is all. Whoever built them must be on here, smiling away. Clever, cunning people.

Reigate ones were inspired by Mickleham and the like but are the work of local pixies I believe.

They are looking tired though. May well accidentally take some form of flat metal thing out with me one day.

They may look tired, but having just ridden the Reigate Hill ones again, they are anything but boring. Off to get some new pants now.

Rode China Pig last night. Sui - get back up there and do it again. You missed a few pointy bits!
