I'm looking at child care options in Morzine this summer - so I can go for a ride with my wife rather than us just taking it in turns. I was thinking about just a couple of afternoons and I was wondering if anyone hadused these guys at Cheeky Monkeys, or if anyone had any recommendations?
Also, if anyone knows of any groups that my wife might be able to join for an afternoon of riding out there that would be great - nothing too technical - thinking like the green and blue runs around Morzine.
just need to start thinking now about how to transport a 20 month old and two bikes on a plane....
cheers
Pete
I used Cheeky Monkeys in Morzine a couple of years ago on a skiing holiday. They use young women for the childcare, mainly 18-20, some of which are good, some of which I gather are less good. We had a good one to be fair, apart from when she tried to cover up the fact she had put my crawling baby on a bed and he had fallen off cutting his nose quite badly. My 3 year old dobbed her in so she ultimately confessed. I would use them again but I would try to ensure the child carer they provided had some prior experience.
Cost-wise it works out best if you can share the child care with another family. We had one person looking after 3 kids.
thanks jfeb. Ours will only be 20 months, so we're a little wary to be honest.... we'll give it a bit of thought I think. Might be that we ask our friends to look after her for a few hours instead.
We met a very nice lady who runs Jack Frosts when we were out for a meal one night, it might be worth giving them a call.
Take some grandparents with you, works out cheaper (if they pay for themselves!).
