I'm wanting to take my lad cycling with me (hes 21months old) what's the best option for use with a FS bike, calibre bossnut if it makes difference.
Thanks.

Front mounted would be best on a FS

I have a Thule Nexxt Mini on my hybrid, takes a child upto 15kg and can be had for under £100, there are some cheaper front mounted seats out there but the Thule one looks good and should have a good resale value when your finished with it

It mounts via the steerer tube only so is perfect for a FS bike as long as you have 30mm of steerer tube between the stem and headset

As above, front mounted is really good. We've used a WeeRide, now graduating to a Shotgun. WeeRide will be kept for no.2 getting old enough as it worked brilliantly with the first one

Mac ride. Pretty good seat for child. Easy to take on off/ swap between bikes.

Would bother with the grips though, they’re pretty rubbish, better to just get some bar wrap tape.

Main problem I found is If you’ve got a sub 50mm stem and not many spacers on the steerer then you’ll struggle to mount. So would say if you’ve got a 35mm stem then you either need around 25mm of spacers on your steerer or get a longer stem.

The other obvious point being that you have to pedal with bow legs when there’s a little person sat in front of you.

Forgot to add that the Thule Nexxt Mini takes two seconds to remove the seat from the stem adaptor (via the handle under the seat) and the seat can be locked onto the adaptor for extra security with the supplied key

My wife and i have adaptors on each of our bikes so swapping the seat with the child still in it takes seconds!!!

We love our MacRide, it's probably my favourite thing on bikes at the moment. Brings us so much joy.

Thanks for the help everyone, it looks like I need to check my stem height. Maybe extra bike time.

We started with a WeeRide then once little miss breadcrumb was strong enough moved on to a Mac-Ride. I'll be going along the same lines for breadcrumb jr once he's old enough too.

From today's ride-

Brilliant piece of kit 😎
