You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Evening all - I’ve got a meeting up in Chesterfield area in a couple of weeks and thought I’d take my bike with me and then cycle across the Peaks to my mates place in macclesfield for the night. I think I’ll take the gravel bike so looking for a route that’s mostly quiet lanes and fire roads.
Any suggestions?
Presumably the middle 10 miles will be the Monsal Trail?

(sorry, I can't help with the other bits)

put in your start and end and select quietest and it'll plot your route using ftracks, quiet roads and even bridleways.
Don’t know the Macc end that well, but from Chesterfield, head north to Linacre Lakes, then there’s a network of easy bridleways and quiet road to get you across the A619. Up to the top of Beeley Moor, then the off-road descent that comes out by the bridge at Carlton Lees. Left to Rowsley (the Old Smithy cafe in Beeley village is worth a stop if it’s open), and turn right onto the A6. Next right, just after the river bridge (Church Lane?) and a stiffish climb. You can then stay off road and segue into the very end of the Monsal trail, just southwest of Bakewell.
If you take the Monsal Trail from Bakewell, where it ends follow the river upstream to the main road (A6) and go Right. Take the 1st road on the left (about 2km) and head up to Harpur Hill, cut through Health And Safety on the BW's as its all legit rights of way, then another BW through someones garden, couple of quite lanes and pop out onto the A53 at Flash Bar Stores. Go Left, then 1st Right through Flash and Gradbach. At the A54 go Left then 1st Right, 1st Left and Right at the T-Junction. Then is pretty much a roll down Ridge Hill into Sutton and pick up Byrons Lane into Macc.
Some decent pubs or places to stop for food, brew or beer along the way
Nice one everyone - some great options there 🙂 thank you!
