So I've worn out the cassette on my ebike (occupational hazard I guess).
Looks like a like for like replacement is £150 (genuine sram XG-1275).

There are some chinese specials on ebay for about half that - £80.

e.g. this

About 100g heavier for the ebay job (claimed)

Anyone tried them out? or anything similar?

Alternative would be to downgrade to the sram NX cassette for £100, but that's another almost 200g compared to the GX.

Any other option suggestions welcome!

Personally, I wouldn’t, I’d buy XX1 or XO1 and seriously look after it, buy a good chain checker and change chain regularly, when chain checker tells, always clean and lube, then there is no reason not to get 2500 miles out of one good cassette, which is a lot of riding

From the right Honourablegeorge's post yesterday

There are two GX cassettes, XG-1150 and XG-1175. 1150 is cheaper and is 394g, 1175 costs more but its a fair bit lighter(325g).

seems pretty cheap

He's looking for 12 speed, not 11. The difference between a GX 11 speed and the GX 12 speed is around £50

Yeah, there's no 1250 cassette, the GX 1275 is the cheapest XD 12s.

I just bought an X01 12s, mantel were cheapest for cassette plus chain, but not cheap at all. I'm a believer in the method above, use multiple chains. Found 11s XD cassettes incredibly durable.

I've seen some stuff about them having sprockets that come loose and are then all over the place as a result.

One of my riding buddies has eked years out a single pukka GX casette, so I would say it is worth the extra dosh.

Got this direct from China (ebay), 9t to 50t so huge range, larger than the new 52t Eagle in fact. £135.

Made by ZTTO, not fitted yet as I'm lazy.

Ah, just noticed it's on an ebike.

Go for something more beefy than the one I got above. GX lasts well as alluded to in the other posts.

I bought a sunrace XD driver compatible one. Heavy but for £90 it's worth a punt.

NX won't fit anyway... it's a standard Shimano spline... NOT XD...

If it's going on an e-bike is 100 / 200g a big deal?

Trade longevity for a little more weight on an ebike?
