Wifey's wanting a turbo trainer for a possibly short lived exercise campaign, will possibly use it myself until the boredom kills it off so not wanting to spend mega money on something.

Has anyone bought one of the cheapo £40 - £50 TT's from Ebay and have anything positive to say about them? or should I stump up £100+ for a named/branded one from CRC?

TIA

The quiet ones can be very noisy on wooden floors etc. depends how much noise you can put up with

I've got a beto one we've just listed on gumtree for £35.

Based in Southampton if that's of any use.

A lot of the cheap ones look like minoura copies/rebranded, like the stealth ones on planet-x.

My minoura's pretty quiet and has plenty of resistance.

I bought one of the £60 ones this time last year and its fine, if a bit noisy at full gas; think vacuum cleaner. Hoverver I mostly use it after work /before dinner so not a big issue.

I'm planning on geting new one this winter to use with trainer road though...
