For years I've been using my old Joysick Maxx as my front light whenever I needed one, I've lost it somehow, so looking for something of similar brightness, easy to clip on and off and fairly cheap if poss.

MTB Batteries of course:

https://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/mountain-bike-lights/lumenator-17/

You might get it for £105 if you reference the statement at the top of https://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/mountain-bike-lights/the-lumenator/

The big deal here is

1. Whilst an import, you can send it back if it develops a fault or needs repairing and he'll fix it.

2. The batteries are decent. Cheap batteries don't last and they set your house on fire. You might've guessed by the site name he knows a bit about batteries.

3. He's a proper decent bloke and someone deserving of your hard earned

4. You'll get in a couple of days

Not sure if you want on the bars or on the lid - this one is great on the bars but the Lumen800 is good on the lid. He'll even sell you a bundle!

Also take a look at Torchy stuff. I have a couple of his 2000 & 3000L lights.

I should have said it's just for road and Taff trail duties on my hack bike. A few hundred lumens is plenty.

If you’ve gone for the Soshine DC12 I’ve got one of those. The battery seems to last well and it feels like a good quality torch. Surprisingly bright for the money - it’s quite ‘spotlighty’ - I’ve used it on my road bike for commuting and I use it with a helmet mount for off road riding too (with a bigger / brighter light on the bars).

The only thing I’d say is with the bar mount it comes with it can jiggle about a bit on really bumpy roads. Never going to fall off - just would prefer it to be a bit more solidly mounted. That said, it’s on a racer with 23c tyres at 100psi ish. On a bike with bigger tyres I imagine it would be a non issue.
