Right, I really fancy building another bike.
Already have a sull suss and a hard tail so think I'd struggle to get another MTB past the wife......
So gravel bikes - looking to do a budget build - ideally 650b as I already have a set of 142x12/100x15 wheels kicking about.
So what sort of budget could I build on to?
Don't mind going second hand/used for any of it.
Ideally 1x10 as I already have a spare cassette kicking around too.
I suppose I could stay flat barred and use the spare SLX shifter and mech I already have - but if I could go dropped that would be better.
Frame would need to be a medium size.

Think you might struggle to find a budget frame with thru axles (and most road/gravel frames are 12x100 front too). Most "proper" gravel frames will take 650b or 700c and whatever groupset. What do you class as budget?

There's very little reasonably priced second hand at the moment too.

In price ascending order how about:
Planet X full monty (qr wheels)
kinesis tripster?
Bowman Weald

Or just caution to wind - mason bokeh on GCI bike to work scheme 🤣

Not a build, I was tempted by a Calibre Lost Lad for £400 on Saturday, had a think about it and they’re all gone.

Will be keeping an eye on them though. Would have been perfect for my first outdoor ride since March yesterday.

Also it turned out there are plenty of gravel bikeable roads by me. I could really see it working.

Camino frame would be my first call.

I also have some surplus 10sp tiagra 4720 stis and a chain bnib. No calipers or hose though. A saddle and some bars off a new bike too. Open to offers.

I've just built up a Camino Al with 650b wheels relatively cheaply. The price of hydraulic road shifters made my eyes water so I've gone with an On One Geoff bar to use an old set of deore brake levers I had lying around.  The frame and forks have flat mount brakes, so I had to get a new set of calipers but these weren't too expensive and work well with the mountain bike levers.

It does feel nice at the moment but I am still thinking of getting some road shifters and flared drop bars when I'm ready to spend the cash!

Me neither, nice looking bike that, too.
