Cheap options for cycling waist pack?

So I will probably be taking my Gravel bike out of commission for a bit while I change a few parts about. It's not a worry though I have my CX bike that I can use instead for local spins, however through sheer laziness I just don't want to fit a bottle cage or bother making any changes to the CX bike as It'll only be doing local spins for a bit.

Now I do have an old hydration pack and a 2L source Bladder that I could use, but part of me is wondering if I could find a cheap waist pack, half fill the bladder I already own and just stuff that in instead of buying an expensive, posh bum-bag for relatively infrequent use.

Anyone done this/got recommendations for a cheap waist/bum/fanny pack that can take a hydration bladder? (by 'cheap' I mean like a tenner-ish).

TK Maxx are usually good for this type of thing. I've picked up a couple of Gelert / Oxford-branded cheapos over the years. Also Sports Direct.

I use one of these for my very infrequent MTB rides, albeit with a bottle rather than a bladder.

They go crazy cheap sometimes; I paid £5.99 for mine.

I was going to recommend the alpkit Vera 6l waist pack as it cost me £25 but the price has gone up.

Its a brilliant bit of kit though.

I have a cheaper waist bag but as soon as you put some weight in it or a bottle of water it's useless, it bounces about and you feel the weight. You don't notice the alpkit one

By the time you'd typed out this post, and then ordered whatever is recommended, you could have put a bottle cage on your cx bike. It's literally a 3 minute job!

not in your price range but holds a 700ml bottle very securely, and feels like you havent got one on,
the most comfortable bumbag I've found is this bontrager, had camelbak/evoc/uswe previous.

£22-23 on other sites.

This just seems like the logical option

I'd put a bottle cage on even if using a waist pack as well.

I use a bottle when using a waist pack too (albeit on an eeeb, but irrelevant). Water in the bladder and sticky isotonic drinks can go in the bottle

There's lazy and there's lazy...

Search for waist bags on eBay, there's loads under a tenner, Trespass makes several cheap ones as well.

Stif have some fanny packs on offer at the minute - can't remember if they're Fox or Dakine. I bought one a few weeks back to use for shorter rides and its spot on. £20 I think it was...

Just realised I had this in the garage:

Holds a bike bottle despite being for running I think. Bit scabby after being left for a decade but that'll do the job... Cheers all for the suggestions!

Decathlon do a few hip packs with bladders. GF has one. It's bigger/swallows more than my Evoc hip pack.

The downside of waist packs is that you can't use your jersey pockets. So the bottle holder you found will sort your water but you can't put a banana/energy bar/inner tube in your jersey pockets!

Fit a cage 🙂

I used to take a full Camelbak backpack out every ride. What the hell did I put in it?
