Can anyone recommend some hard wearing but relatively easy to remove tape for some basic frame protection on kids bikes that are chained up at school? Bikes are normally passed down then sold on so anything that can protect them from a multitude of scratches would be beneficial - as long as it can be removed without pulling the paint off or leaving a horrible sticky residue after.
Hello, is this thing on?..
Have a look at 3M Ventureshield.
Can be had from ebay in various sizes.
It's not the cheapest tape but it does a great job.
Not used it myself (I've used the genuine 3M 2228 helicopter tape in the past) but I've seen others on here posting that this stuff is very good and comes up much cheaper than the 3M stuff.
50mm seems to be the narrowest available though, so may not be a great fit on kids bikes.
I buy Gusset Tek Tape, it's just 3m tape and I found the 100mm X 1.5 m was cheaper than eBay 3m tape. I cut it to fit from the bigger roll
Leccy tape comes off easy
This us good stuff, and at £1/m can't go wrong.

The downside to some tape thats not bike specific is it leaves a sticky residue which needs a bit of effort to remove.
But as it's not bike specific it is cheap
Timely thread, just ordered some Paragon tape so will post back if I remember.
You want some self amalgamating tape. It only sticks to itself so doesn't leave residue and is very cheap.
