Can't justify mucho money on a fancy turbo trainer but spotted a Decathlon Direct Drive one (presumably rebadged something or other) for £240. Got Zwift compatibility, though not massively planning to get into that type of stuff, more for just doing some mileage on crappy winter days.
Anyone, by chance, tried one? Or any other ones in the budget level?
Following as had been thinking the same.
Want one for the winter for myself and Daughter to use.
the pinnacle one? as above? also sold at sports direct? there's voucher (i posted it a while back when i bought mine maybe in the pinaccle turbo trainer thread) that brought it down to more like 160, if its the same turbo trainer.. i've been happy with mine, it does whats required.. makes me sweat.. changes load..... reasonably quiet
Managed to get a Jet Black Volt when they were on offer from Evans for £200 - its a re-badged zwift hub so quality is very good. Don't think you can get them anymore but i'm classing it as a budget trainer - it's been flawless and works brilliantly. So much so we got another one to avoid swapping bikes over! Was looking at the pinnacle but couldn't find any decent reviews so felt a risk with reliability being the main concern. Good to hear it's working for others.
I'd say go for it!
I've got an Elite Zumo which, at the time, was the cheapest direct drive turbo available. It's fine. I'm sure if you're a serious Zwift racer or trainer then it has it's limitations, but for 'mileage on crappy days' it's, like I say, absolutely fine.
I've got a Tacx Flow smart trainer, which did me fine for a few years. Not as good as a direct drive, but perfectly good enough for Zwifting. I swapped it for an Elite Direto a couple of years ago.
Not-so-stealth ad - I'm looking to get rid of it, if anyone is interested. Not sure how easy it would be to ship.
Happy to let it go for not a lot of money, if anyone wants?
Anyone used one of these:

They have just reduced the price on the Kickr Snap and Core, will hold their value better for resale if you ever decided you wanted to upgrade, and also probably better for support.
