As per title really. We're getting into lights season and I need a new helmet light.

Any suggestions? The Bikehut lights look ok (currently have one on the bars) but are there any decent helmet mount options?

Don't want to spend loads because in a month or so all our local trails will be an unrideable mire.

I have an Exposure Joystick, beautiful, light, but not cheap and not the brightest.

I also have a Chili-Tech Capsule pro, which is a little more spot focused, but great mounting as easy to adjust angle, very easy to carry a spare battery and almost as good as the joystick for half the price. Worth waiting for them to be on sale if in no rush.

I’ve only used this on the bikes front rack:

seems well made.

i added a go-pro mount to the screw mount.

I'm a big fan of the Magicshine RN1500 / OLIGHT RN1500 light mounted with a Knog helmet mount.

You get a go-pro to garmin 1/4 turn adapter in the RN1500 box which you attach to the knog mount and it makes a great, solid and very straightforward helmet mount with the benefit of a plastic mounting screw which is intended to snap if you hit the light too hard on anything whilst riding to help prevent damage to your neck.

Get a joystick, then never have to buy a helmet light again.

When you're not using it on the bike it can double as a normal torch

I got one of these in January, works fine, it’d be nice to have a larger spread, and brighter, but at the price its pretty good. It came with a helmet mount too, not sure of the one linked does.

I went through loads of different lights then bought an exposure diablo 7 years ago and it's been perfect.

It could possibly do with an external battery so I can run it on high power for longer, I run it on lowest setting u less I'm going downhill

I have an unused Exposure Sirius Mk9 that is surplus to requirements,  it has sat in the drawer for a year, though I have kept it at about 70% charge.  can't find the cable or mount.  Open to offers, maybe £40 plus postage for the light unit without the accessories ?

The exposure outlet sometimes has cheaper lights.

£180 on sale doesn't seem cheap, better than £260

I got the mtbbatteries luminator last year and paired it with the exposure helmet mount - small light head unit if you're happy with battery in backpack or velcro'd to the back of the helmet.

Decent brightness and spread for the price but not as good as the £££ options

Nice one, cheers all.

I've just picked up a MKII Chilli Capsule with spare battery for under £50. That should do nicely (comes with a headstrap too so I might even be able to use it for running).
