Has anybody stayed in Chatel, France and can recommend a local bike tour company?
My friend is 40 this year and as a gift his wife has sorted out accommodation in Chatel in September for 6 of us. My job is to advise her on the biking part.
questions like; Should we take our bikes or hire? None of us have been before so we'd like to head off knowing the full picture.
Any help appreciated.

Can't help on a guide, but the tourist office do a VTT map of the area. We stayed there last year and found our way around fine. There is also a Portes du Soleil guide available locally (in English too) that we found quite useful. It's worth getting some Swiss francs if you go across to Champery for parking.

I used to live in morgins. Follow road out of france to switzerland its next village up. A km along at most. Just after border the bike shop is there it has english speaking guides and hires hecklers and bullits out then a few hundred yards down is the main village and uplift . Great riding all over and you can get a lift pass that covers all lifts in region. Enjoy i miss it

Don't think the whole lift system will still be running in September though, sure it begins closing again the last week of August.

Great riding though! Bike park in Chatel was ace fun.

BTW I lost a pair of Spesh Chicane Adaptalite glasses there last year. If you see them gives a shout on here when you get back, cheers.
