I see last years models are going cheap, they look like a really nice bike for general riding on roads (fitness, light tours etc.)
Anyone got one?
any good?
thanks

I'm looking at one as a commuter for a friend of mine. Very good vfm at the moment for the 2012 and the trade reviews seem good although I've not found anybody who's got one yet.

Also can't decide on the L or XL for my 6'2" mate.

I was thinking of getting my wife one. I've been trying to convince her to buy a tricross but she doesn't like drops. This looks like a really nice hybrid and good value in the sales

According to this he'll need an XL as he's 74" tall

Yep, problem is that 2 different sites have put him on 2 different bike sizes.

I'll be in the shop in London at the end of the month to see if I can see one in the flesh to help, with the decision as long as they don't sell out first.

And I assume you'd not be buying at Evans seeing as you can get them for £450 if you shop around?

Cheers.

Annoyingly the actual Charge website shows the geometry measurement for all the sizes except the XL which is annoying as I can't find the dimensions to help with the decision.

Still think its a good looking bike and killer vfm at the price. I'd have one myself if I was in the market.

My mate was just about to buy one but the price has just jumped £150 and its up to £599 now 🙁

Wonder if the original price was a mistake?

odd thing is that the large and xl have very short heatubes - Evans at Canary Wharf has (as of last week) a XL in the shop next to some XL specialised sirrus etc the front end is very low -

I ruled it out on that - shame good all round bike and some good deals on.

XL geo:

seat tube c-t 584.2mm
effective TT 580mm
actual TT 571
head tube 150mm

this was in an email from charge - rest same as size large

I have a Scourer (same frame but lower spec components), bought very cheap during a Wiggle sale.

I went with a medium which measures a 560mm ETT and it is a bit short so I fitted a longer steam for a bit more reach.

Personally, I absolutely love it so far*, it is quicker than you'd expect for a hybrid and the geometry encourages you to get out of the saddle and wring its neck like a deliquent.

*however, I've not had much time to clock up any significant mileage so it remains to be seen if it's comfortable for longer jaunts.
