What is the best method to do this yourself, last time I did it was on a bmx with a bit of sand paper and a tin of spray paint. Anyone been through the process recently to advise how to get a nice job done?

But a bike you like the colour of, then you'll have 2 bikes.

WIN!!

You can do it yourself. It's hard work, the rattle can paint isn't cheap and it's usually not very durable.

Having done a few frames by hand, Imho it makes more sense getting it stripped and powder coated for about 50-60 notes.

How high are your standards? Is the bike any better than a rat bike?

If I'm honest unless you have access to some kind of spray booth or the bike is already a bit rough and ready I'd just be paying for it to be dipped and powder coated. £50-60.
