I need a front hub and I reckon there's a good chance I'll want to switch the front hub to 15 or 20mm (from QR) in the not too distant future so I want something like a Pro2 that will do that without the hassle of a rebuild.

SSC (no octopron, please!) do their switch/ultra/etc hubs which are around £40 but are there any other options? Basically I'm too tight to pay for new Pro2 🙂

Ideally in black

TIA

Just get the switch. Can't see much point looking around, they're robust, cheap and do the job. Supplied bearings don't last that long, but some good SKF's or similar a year down the line wont break the bank.

Superstar Switch, we have them on all our bikes. Reliable, easy and cheap.

Hassle?*

*Genuine q. Thought it was just a case of popping out the adapters?

It is - that's the lack of hassle 🙂

I mean if I buy a non-changeable front hub then I have to rebuild the wheel should I change fork.

I just don't want to pay Hope price 🙂

Pro 2 here at not a bad price

We have two sets of pro 2 that have been run regular for seven years without any servicing, just had one set rebuilt onto some carbon rims.
