Holla.
Am new to 12 speed.
Got Shimano 12x on my new bike.
Looking to get another chain so can rotate.
Am thinking XT m8100, but have also seen a nice Nickel coated one by BBB and a chrome YBN.
Anyone had experience of running non Shimano on the hyperglide+ set ups?
Would rather it didn't make a racket and skip all the time, but also like Nickel coating to cut down on corrosion and aid cleaning.

If you’re running Shimano as the other chain I’d probably run another Shimano one - XT again.
Personally I found the Shimano 12 speed chains prone to getting grit and mud stuck in them due to the wider side plates and so they sounded awful in wet weather. Much prefer to use a Sram XX1 chain - currently running a slightly blingy oil slick one - although I also like the gold ones. They last a really long time before they stretch too.
Shift fine on Shimano 12 speed - I didn’t really notice any difference going from the Shimano chain to XX1 in terms of shifting.
I think overall I prefer the GX Eagle drivetrain on my hardtail - but the Shimano cassette doesn’t have the large jump between the 2 lowest gears - so run slx / xt mix on my full suss bike.
+1 for SRAM Chains, X01 and XX1 last pretty much forever.
+1 for SRAM X01 / xx1. On paper they are expensive but last miles longer than the competition so ultimately work out cheaper. If you use wax lube they literally go for 1,000s of miles.
As above, SRAM chains are the most durable so are cheapest pence per mile by a long way.
However, the plus in hyperglide plus is a function of the internal chamfers on a Shimano chain. Without them, you just get hyperglide, which has been perfectly fine for decades.
I think if you have the shifting habits from yesteryear, things like SRAM T-type and Hyperglide plus don't matter so much. If you 3xo3ct perfect shifting under load, then they will matter to you
