I've got a bike with boost wheels/fork. I have a old saint chainset I want to put on there.
Is it compatible or do i have to get a 'boost' chainset?
It depends on the frame.
It just means the chainring will be 3mm closer to the centre of the frame than it should be - that might mean the chainring touching the chainstay if clearance is tight. If that works, then it means a less-than perfect chainline, although that can be kind of a good thing with some 1x11/12 setups
I'd give it a try, might be OK
Cool - I'll have a go then.
I was wondering about this, could you not space the chainring out with some 3mm spacers and longer steel chainring bolts.
You couldn't space it. You could put the ring in the outer position - that offsets it too much though.
