Confused! I have a 10 speed chain running on a 3/32 fron chainring. I thought this size was 10 speed specific, but a number of websites I've been on say that 3/32 is 9 speed. Everything runs fine, so not a real issue, but can anybody give me a definitive answer, for a 10 speed setup should I be running a 1&1/8 or 3/32 chainring.

You'll need to run 3/32 chain, I spent extra cash on a "10spd" front ring, only for it to come marked up "9/10spd" - I could have saved cash by buying a cheaper 9spd ring. 1/8 is SS only.
