Can anyone suggest a good quality splitter that dont fall to bits after one use and dont cost more than the chain ? Also what the crack when it comes to sizing new chains (with powerlink) correctly?

Shimano TL-CN27

For sizing, several methords, the Park Tools site shows them, take your pick, you should also find how to's in the insturctions you get with retail packaged chains

i've got a superstar multi tool which has worked far better and lasted longer than previous decent stand alone chain tools. Can't grumble @ £17 for the lot.

As far as chain length goes I just work on length required to go round both big wheels and add 2 links. In your case add 2 then remove the last outer section and bang on the powerlink.

Park Mini chain brute.
Best compact chain tool I've used.
Had mine for 7 years so far & still going strong.
Unless you're after something more workshop style?

We've used Park CT3's in our workshop for years(mine's probably pushing on for about 15 years too), only problem we've had was with a new mechanic who broke 3 pins in 2 days, all easily replaced, still got no idea how he managed it though.
