Hello STWers,

I been a voyeur on STW for a while now but never actually posted, you lot seem (mostly) like a knowledgeable bunch, so thought I'd put my question out there...

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a chain with better lateral strength/durability than a PC991 or XT for use on a 1x9 setup?

I have the chainline as good as possible but it's clearly always going to stress the chain when in the 9 or 32 sprocket... Any suggestions very welcome.

Thanks

nothing special at all on mine - just a normal mid price range SRAM chain which seems fine.

[s]Thanks bighendo, but is an XTR chain actually any stronger laterally than the XT one I've got?

I thought they were just lighter for the same strength...

I'm not actually bothered about weight, would just like something that lasts a bit longer...

Edit: bloody iPhone typing fail!

I'm just using a PC970 chain with SRAM 97..something 11-34 cassette.
Got a 34 ring on the front with a superstar chain guide - its all working really well at the moment, no dropped chain or much chain strain.
