Ordered a bar and stem 2nd March with free standard delivery. Still no delivery details available using the Parcel Force tracking number. Not so long ago their free delivery would usually mean next day delivery. I understand their business model probably has forced them to tighten up on unnecessary postage fees but their prompt delivery times were their main raisin d'etre for me. LBS or rival onliner that delivers well next time.

I'm more interested in the free returns and helpful customer services, but people have different priorities of course.

Sounds like your order might have slipped through the net or something? Usually takes 2 or 3 days for me.

Sounds like normal service to me. I've never understood how people got next day delivery with them as I never did. Usually 3 days to "sometime next week".

Worse is paying for next day delivery. It takes longer! The actual delivery is next day, but they take ages to actually post the thing.

It got better with the free delivery though and I could more often expect it after 3 days. It's one of those places though where if I want something by the weekend I must make sure I order by Monday at the latest.

Sadly we don't have any online bike stores that are as efficient as Amazon (though Amazon do carry some bike bits, but needs to be 'Prime' to know it will be next day).

Actually, saying that I will say Alltricks is bloody fast. I did get one next day with them and they're in France! Though had to pick the delivery option to a collection point to get free delivery.

I have never ever had a next day from them but usually 2-3-4 days. Could depend on the item ordered? Either way it is within a week and for free delivery that is fine with me. Add to that good customer service and I'm happy to wait a bit.

You orderd on a wednesday. They could have picked up your order on Thursday and sent out Friday.

You might concider chilling out a bit, you might have something tomorrow?

I ordered wheels a couple of Fridays ago, they were delivered the following Monday. Unfortunately still sitting in the box as I'm stricken with a stomach bug, still. 😥

I've ordered a load of stuff with them lately and never had to wait more than a day or two. I'd drop them an email, maybe they are waiting for stock?

One of the reasons why they are my still go-to is that they use Royal Mail.

A lot more stuff is going via Parcelforce 48 rather than first class.

My stuff is still turning up quickly; ordered a D3 Sunday night, dispatched yesterday and will be here tomorrow. Can't fault them really.

I had an email 3 days ago saying order dispatched, only this morning has the tracking code started working, only to say they are aware of the parcel. I'm not in a rush for my stuff but funny when you compare it to ordering stuff from bike-discount.de which is quicker on their free delivery!

I'm not usually one to wine but, yeah, their currant service isn't what it used to be

Yep. Ordered handlebar on wednesday. Nothing until saturday when i got an email confirming dispatch and delivery on Monday....except Parcelforce still dont have the parcel, and tracking just shows as advised.

Delivery time was always one of their strong points. Now price isnt necessarily any less, and delivery is no quicker, cant see any reason they would continue to get my business over other online retails.

The merge with Wiggle makes me even more doubtful i will buy from them much in the future.

No problems here

Providing the order's in before noon it's despatched and delivered next day via Royal Mail which I think is pretty good.

The secret is to order one thing at a time

I remember the days of next day for free. It's been a few years since I've had that kind of service on a regular basis though. It was one of the reasons I used them over others too. It meant I could order Monday morning and get it Tuesday without having to consider getting up and going outside!

Bought 1x11 y'day at 1pm

-Shifter and mech from Evans - paid for next day, delivered by 1030am
-Chain from High on Bikes - ordinary first class - post office tells me it is due for delivery today
-XD driver from JRA - despatched y'day first class - may or may not be with me
-XX1 cassette from CRC - paid for next day, despatched this morning which I presume means not next day delivery.

Paying for next day delivery from CRC is a joke. Although the courier will deliver it next day It takes them days to actually dispatch your order, making the whole exercise pointless.

Agree that their service used to be excellent. Many times I used to get orders delivered next day on free delivery, one of the main reasons I used to order so much from them. Now it's average to poor and I don't often order.

Of no use to you OP but just had my Merlin delivery less than 24 hours after order and I didn't pay for next day. Big old wheel box too.

Merlin are great, but usually I call into the shop as it's on my way to Rivington.
CRC however are on another island,so I have to rely on the post.
I have to say that so far stuff has always turned up prompt, next day sometimes.
Earlier this afternoon I ordered some stuff from them,I'll report back when it gets here.

Seems like a mixed bag nowadays. Guess there's lots of variables and if you've ordered the right product at the right time, you'll still get the good old CRC delivery service. Update on mine: Parcelforce tracker now saying at local delivery hub so likely delivery tomorrow (five days after ordered day). Not complaining but whole point of thread was to highlight that - in some cases - their delivery (one of the key reasons I use them) definitely ain't what it used to be.

Other online retailers are available.

Not that many though that carry a massive stock. Mainly CRC, Wiggle, maybe Merlin, plus the European stuff like Alltricks and bike-discount.de

A huge amount of the smaller online sites carry only small amounts or even no stock at all, and they quote "in stock" as meaning their distributor claims it's in stock and they think they can get it from them tomorrow and ship that day or day after. I've been caught out a number of times where in stock isn't in stock, so I try another site for the same item claiming in stock and isn't in stock, try another and same. Then I find out it's because they're all quoting the same distributor and they're actually out of stock.

CRC, for all their failings, if they say it's in stock, it usually is in their warehouse.

I wonder if things will improve now they have been absorbed by Wiggle? Wiggle have a massive new warehouse a mile away from me, surely the fact that the items don't have to cross the water should speed things up.
