Having just broken two chain link extractors, I am in the market for a reliable replacement!

Any recommendations?

The expensive Park one has a replaceable pin and is a proper pro tool.

This is the best, new pins for it are £4.99 ( i haven't broken any yet)

I snapped my years old mid priced one a few days ago and replaced it with a cheap one (wanted a park but lbs had no stock). This snapped second use (whilst being used correctly) so I took it back and ordered the Park ct-3.2 I originally wanted.

[anal] A slight correction, the replacement pins are £2.50 each, the £4.99 is for a pack of 2 [/anal]

And yes, can't go far wrong with Park, they're not subtle bits of engineering but they work, function over form.

I use the Park Tool Mini brute. Have done for years. Less than £10, light enough to take in the pack. One of the best buys ever has been the Park Tool Link remover. Saved loads of hassle removing the new non-usable (apparently) SRAM power links. This tool makes swift work of opening the chain out.

Thanks. I will take a look at the Park Tool one I think. What I would have given for a replaceable pin last night!!! Ended up fashioning one out of a nail and managed to bodge the SRAM link off.

Bit of a panic as the bike is needed for a race tonight and at one point it was unrideable!

I have had one of the tools for years but it has never come across a SRAM 10 speed link before!

Edit: Didn't strike me until cycling in this morning that I had a third tool in my commuting toolbag!!!!
