Hi,

Having used a Paul's components chain guide (the top mounted one) on a 1 x 10 with clutch mech I've never managed a whole ride without dropping the chain. In fact at least once a ride the chain will jam between the guide and side of the chainring.

I've now fitted a thick thin chain ring but would like to get as close to eliminating chain drop as possible. Can you suggest a chain guide / bash ring that will hold the chain without giving me any hassle?

Thanks.

fit a blackspire stinger and get rid of the top mounted chain guide if the NW ring and clutch mech combo isnt working for you

Try it with no guide first, it doesn't seem like it should work but it's like voodoo. I'm still kind of expecting to put a guide on the big bike but it's not shown any signs of needing it yet. It's uncanny.

Narrow wide, no need for guide!

As above - I went N/W with a clutch mech in January and was sceptical but it just works! Not dropped the chain once after regular rocky Calderdale, trail centre and Lakes rides as well as an enduro race. Some kind of weird witchcraft but well chuffed with it.
