Just fitted a Blackspire Stinger (BB mount) whilst going from 3x9 to 2x9 - E13 Turbocharger bash (36T) replacing XT 44T on 2008 XT cranks.
Not done any uber-adjusting yet but the chain line on the 32T middle is bang on, but dropping to the 22T granny means the chain is being pushed through the device at a bizarre angle, as that is static.
Chainring bolts attaching the bash to the arms (and the 32T) are also too long so shimmed with washers that foul the chain on the granny...need shorter ones...PITA.
Anyone had similar setup headcahes?

Slightly different but my 1x10 came factory fitted with an x0 guide, it rubbed like a bastard out of the box and I ended up having to fit different sized spacers to twist it round slughtly. Piss poor really.

Put the washers on the outside of the bash?

Is the Mount ISCG or BB mounted? You might need to swap a BB spacer to get the best alignment.

mikesmith - BB mount.
Yes I could put the washers between the bash and the 32T...would need different wider diameter ones but doable - or change to bolts that are the right size.
Can't recall which position the device is in off-hand - there were 2 BB spacers - seems worse on the other one - the more inner position I think.
In principle the Stinger will be great for 1 chain ring but less good on the other chainring as it's a set/static position though? I could however be talking utter bollocks, having never done this before 😕

My BB mounted ones have worked fine on 2 ring setups, normally on the most inboard position on the BB. The only real retention it gives is via the roller and then the back plate/bash do the rest to stop it jumping out etc.
I'm sure my last bash came with washers to mount outside the bash so any extra bolt length was taken up where it didn't matter.
Probably time for pics
