Hi, I've checked to see if there was already a post on this, but couldn't find one.

I'm looking for some advice on the best chain device for a double ring set up. I'd been using a cheap superstar one which was just a lower dolly wheel, but it got quite close to the swing arm. it died on a big impact when the mounting plate twisted and the single bolt popped out of the side.

There are quite a few alternatives but I'm keen to get the best one possible so I don't have to faf about again.

Suggestions? (other than lose weight, get fitter and drop to a 1x set up!)

*forces himself not to recommend 1x*

Stinger and a bashguard is about the best of all the options - you can get far, far more expensive options but none of them are better.

Actually - that Gamut was one of the "far more expensive options" - I actually had one myself. Does exactly the same job as a stinger, but for the price above, deffo worth a pop.

The gamut works better with the slider rather than the roller if you can find one

I've found the MRP 2X way better and less draggy than the Blackspire stinger. Bearings rapidly give up in the stinger and it's noisy and draggy in comparison.
MRP 2X is available here at 70% off.
You can have my Stinger for the price of postage (pulley still spins but bearings need tlc) if you want!

Always liked my stinger- I had to cut a big chunk out of the backplate of mine to clear my swingarm but that's OK, there's loads of metal. Also improvised an anti-chainsuck doofer into it with a chunky bolt, that worked really well.

looks like OP decided but for lighter use i rate these, used to be known as "Bionicon"?

works well with clutch mech, so long as you don't need top guide. works on bikes that don't have (usable) ISCG. light, cheap. bit noisy but ok. just zip ties on.

on me 2nd after the first more expensive metal one fell off, use some threadlock on the small bolt that holds 2 sides together!

coloured metal ones
