The wet May MTB Marathon let some grit in my shorts and I've been suffering ever since, considering the amount I ride / train.

I've some big target rides coming up so can't stop now - whats best to calm things a bit?  Yes I using a good/tested/anti bacterial chamois cream, washing properly, treating with Savlon and fungicidal cream as a preventative.

Anything suggestions?   I'll pick the winner from the undoubted comedy posts that will follow...

Depends on the type of sore?

Don't let Metanium get on anything you like, its bloody awful in that respect, but most excellent at clearing up bum rash.

Bepathen is very good.

Try Squirt barrier balm, it's not a cream style thing, but looks and feels more like softened dubbing, also smells minty fresh and kept me smooth as through said marathon

Nuke it from orbit with Daktacourt (yes its not supposed to be used down there but GP recommended it - sparingly). Also I'm using Chucklin Goat Kefir soap and Kefir drink (to increase healthy bacteria- allegedly) and have cut back on sugar.

Binned Endura liners as they really don't help and now use Castelli liners and Castelli dry cream

Have you gotta fungal inflection? If so, daktarin will help. As will athletes foot powder. Tinea crisis is a nasty infection, especially in the cyclist groin. Germilene is a little stronger than sacking, but not Antifungal so keep with the daktarin too.

If it worsens, you will have to stop cycling for a while. It doesn’t get better on its own.

Google ringworm and dhobi itch...

No infection, just uncomfortably sore with a few under skin bumps. Some cleaning, drying and a thin layer of Savlon overnight has helped - Bepathan is coming via Amazon later today.

I'd maybe give Morhulin a try -- is as you say for nappy rash, it's a bit stickier that Sudocrem and the like - think it's cod liver oil based.

Try using Tree Tea oil after each shower - I do and it seems to keep the undercarriage working well

Uddercream, but not the peppermint scented stuff if you are off into bear country.
Sudocrem is also darn good.

Except it will get worse if you don't let it recover and you'll not only miss the target rides you'll be screwed for longer as well.

This x1000. My advice comes from experience. There will be little harm to your fitness, but a skin infection from chafing in the groin can take you out for a month or two.
