Anyone used these, do they live up to the claims?
My lower headset bearing gets a tough time as use bike in wet with no mudguards. It gets rusty (which I guess is superficial and cleans off) but the bearing also gets rough after a winters use. I could get a slightly more expensive stainless steel bearing to stop rust but bearing would still get shot inside.
Can seem to find any reviews on them so asking in case anyone here uses them, do the VERY expensive SLT bearings actually work, i.e. are maintenance free over many years?
I just use a decent quality stainless bearings and slather them in grease.
Usually gets at least two if not three winter seasons out of them.
As with most things from ceramic speed I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the claims are made up or completely misrepresented

@kerley what headset do you have fitted now? Is it just a standard cane creek or fsa headset?
Chris King for the bling or hope which is a bit cheaper.
I once fitted a cane creek 110 headset. I asked the rep who sold it the shop how much replacement bearings were? He said he had no idea, he had never sold a replacement bearing. Bike was trained on hard for a year and then went across africa and the headset was still perfect when I got back and sold the bike.
Sorry, I've no experience of ceramic speed headsets, never needed anything more than hope really and a bit of tlc every 6 months as a preventative measure.
Currently using an FSA no 42 which is just a couple of ACB in plain steel by the look of it but I have always had this problem on all my bikes.
I always put grease around them but will try stainless as at least they won't rust and are 20% the price of Ceramic Speed but the SLT and the lifetime warranty still appeals to me.

I did look at the technical drawings of these and Hope, the Cane Creek was better sealed. And the 70 version is the same just with cheaper and heavier materials.
