Rode the Kitchener Trail in the week, had it almost to myself. Nice V twisty forest singletrack, if that's your thing.

we do an evening ride out from the shop if you're interested. usually meet up 6-6.30.

there is a quick route out of center parcs:- go out through security gate and over the brow of the hill,as the road goes round to the right you need to take the fire road to the left.this will take you down to pines.when you reach the cross roads, turn right and go through green gate.follow up the hill till you come to the next main fire road on the left and turn left.go down the hill till you see another green gate on your right,go through, and you will see the car park, cafe etc in front. all routes start from here and the shop is there as well

Sherwood Forest - there last weekend - nice singletrack foresty type stuff, some chances to nip off the main track to lumpy bits as Adey said. And, try to get over towards the nature reserve - nicer riding than on the tarmac woodland trails!
Take the kids to see the Major Oak, bit cheesy but if they are young it's still fun.

Work a quick trip into Clumber Park if you have time - lots of nice trails - stay away from the visitor centre and you'll be fine, the long route round the outer edge of the park is a pleasant ride.

Went there a few months back and did the xc loop a few times - very entertaining when hit at speed, better riding than I thought I'd get on holiday 😀 The trail felt like it was very natural and only a few parts had that 'man planned' feel to them
