So I need some new centre lock rotors for some new wheels but can find a Sram Centre Lock 160mm rotor from any reputable shops. My usual go to shops are Wiggle, CRC, and Merlin. I can find 180mm and 140mm but no 160mm for some reason.

Or is there any reason not to just go for Shimano rotors for Sram callipers?

SRAM centrelock rotors are like rocking horse shit and when you can find them they’re ridiculously expensive.

I’m running Shimano centrelock rotors with SRAM hydraulic disc brakes on my road bike with no issues.

I went with adaptors and 6-bolt rotors for mine. (DT adaptors because I had them and they're light, but others are available)

I reckon it's faster to do up 6 bolts than it is to find whatever damn tool it is to undo this particular centrelock rotor

I had thought about that. I might have another look.

Just another question. It looks like theres 2 different tools for centerlock. The one i'm use to is the same as a cassette but the other looks like an external bb tool. Is that correct?

Yes.

Some use the internal tool like on a cassette and others use the external BB tool. I've found that my centrelock wheels with bolt thru axles use the external BB tool as the other type of lockring doesn't fit over the thru axle end cap.

IME the tolerances are hit and miss with the adaptors. Drove me spare with the knocking sounds. Go centrelock shimano, that’s what I’ve done, works perfectly (sram guide rs and ultimates)

Do all the Shimano rotor work ok with sram caliper? I'e looked at the SLX and XT but they look like they are designed for different sized pads.

Used to have SLX rotors with XT Centrelock hubs and still had the knocking.

Just use 6 bolt rotors with an adapter.

Be aware that Shimano use a 203 rotor, not 200. You might have to put a few small washers under the caliper to accommodate.

180/160 XT on DT Swiss hubs, on guide brakes. Works perfectly.
