Hi, I bought a CCDB AIR CS as a birthday present to myself and in my haste to order, forgot about the mounting hardware.
I have a 2011 Orange Five which currently has the mounting hardware dimensions of 22mm x 6mm for my old RP23. The Cane Creek website shows 22mm x 8mm for the CCDB.
Does anyone know if the mounting hardware comes with new bolts or is it just the bits that fit into the shock eyelets?
So basically I have a new shock and nothing to mount it to my bike with - what do I need to enable me to fit it to my bike, please help! Do you need any special tools? Should've gone to TFT in hindsight...instead of making a rushed purchase on my phone at lunchtime, what a fud
Thanks
When I fitted a CCDB CS air to my old Cotic Rocket frame which previously had a Fox Kashima CDT fitted I just swapped the existing mounting hardware over on the advice of Cy at Cotic. I was also going to purchase new mounting hardware for the CCDB but there was no need. You just need to gently tap/pull the hardware out of fox shock and press it into CCDB unless of course your old hardware is worn out.
I bought some a few weeks ago, no bolts included
The 6/8mm is related to the frame rather than the shock. The 22mm is the space between the shock mounts on the frame.
The bolts you need are also specific to the frame. So make sure you keep the ones you already have.
Cane Creek use a different diameter from Fox, but you'll be able to get what you need here: http://www.tftuned.com/cane-creek-2012-mount-kit-m6/p2933
If your not 100% sure ring TF , really good guys and very knowledgeable about mixing shocks and frames.
Thanks for the replies guys. So I guess if I keep the 6mm bolts I already have and order hardware of the 22 x 6mm variety, all should be good? Do the bits just slide on to the shock eyelet or do you need to press them in with force?
The original hardware from the Fox shock will be 5yrs old, so prob just worth buying new hardware for the new shock?
Thanks again
I'd be phoning TF and telling them you need a mount kit for a CCDB Air on an Orange 5
Yeah the bolts just slide in, it's the frame itself that clamps up to hold the shock in place.
The bolts will be fine, the Fox hardware (reducers and DU bushes) don't fix the CC anyway.
Great, cheers!
