Anyone have any experience with this light? Seems a brilliant deal at £72 for the battery and charger included, was looking at the 3000 luman from torchy but this could be just as good? anyone used C&Bseen before?
Just wondering before I press the buy button.
Cheers

I've one of the C&BSeen headtorches. Had no problems with it, a bit heavy (it's twice the weight of an Exposure Joystick for example) but apart from that it's fine. I've thought of getting the more powerful headtorch as even with the separate purchase of battery and charger it's way cheaper than most.

I haven't got one but they look like nice lights. Look well machined with sufficient number of cooling fins. It uses XP-L over XM-L(2) which are more efficient. It also uses optics as opposed to reflectors which i personally prefer and you will notice virtually all of the high end lights use optics over reflectors. I thinks the torchy light use reflectors. Also if I remember correctly the torchy light looks like a standard rebadged 7 x XML2 chinese light although I can't verify this as the listing is no longer on his ebay page as being for sale.

I'd go for the C and b seen light. They have good customer care and are quick to reply to e-mails.

I have a pair of their lights and they are spot on. Couple of years old now. Seem just as good as units 3 times the price. When I first used them I noticed a burn mark on one of the LED's. Called them up (forget the chaps name). He was very apologetic and sent out a replacement that day, arrived the next morning! Just told me to post the faulty one back whenever I got a chance. Can't beat that for customer service. They've been fine since so must have just been one if those things. Quite a few people I know use them too as we've all been so impressed by them.

If only all companies looked after their customers like that.

forget the chaps name

his name is Roger.
i've been running the 1200 lumens lights for 3 years now and not had any problems. partway through that period i upgraded the battery to the 6 cell unit. i had some initial problems with it and Roger was very helpful. he offered to replace the battery if the problem persisted but thankfully it sorted itself out.
from experience he's always been very helpful and responds very promptly.
would i buy again from him? definitely yes!

Anyone know the burn times on the various power settings?

I ordered one of these on a bit of a whim to replace my knackered solarstorm unit. Order placed late Thursday night and it's just arrived and is now charging in the garage.

Looks a well made piece of kit. Can't see me using the handlebar remote though (seems a bit of a gimmick tbh)

There's a chance I'll get out on an MNPR ride this Monday so will report back but don't expect beam shots or technical terms 😀

Same here. Very minor irritations - used as a helmet light it stands too tall, and the beam pattern isn't great compared to my Hope lights, a bit too spotty even with the diffuser. But for the money it's fine and has been absolutely reliable.

I'd be interested in the 3000lm model...

Their customer service is exemplary. I've used the 1200lm version and the battery went after about six months, quick phone call they checked the purchase date and sent a new one out with a return envelope for the old one so it cut the down-time for riding.

I'd use them again and thanks for flagging the brighter version...!

assuming you get the standard 4 cell battery pack with the 1200lumen light then on full power you should get up to 3 hours. the lower setting burns at around 800lumens so you should get over 3 hours and if you put it on flash mode you should get an even longer run time
with the 6 cell battery you should get up to 6 hours on full power and more using the lower settings

I was out for a little over 2 hrs last night with the new 3000 lumen light. After initial teething problems with the connector which really needs pushing firmly to prevent it cutting out mid ride I was very happy with the performance.

Full power is stupidly bright with a very wide spread compared to the solarstorm I had previously. After a little over an 90 mons on full the indicator button went yellow so I put it on medium which was still plenty bright enough. By the time we finished the ride it was still indicating green so very impressed so far.

the yellow indicator means you have about 70% left in the battery. when it gets down to the last 10% the indicator should go red

I had an email about burn times and outputs:

High = 3000 lumen = 2.5 hrs
Med = 800 lumen = 15 hrs
Low = 250 lumen = 52 hrs
Pulse = 800 lumen = 23 hrs
