Does anyone know who is responsible for maintaining cattle grids on byways?
We have one locally which has a nasty hole in it, with two of us writing off rims this weekend with several others having near misses. No way around it and the hole cant be seen until you drop onto it from a log retainer. Not wanting to chase the bike repair costs but would like it fixed so doesnt happen to others. Walkers would also have a problem as well as off road vehicles.

Report it to the local authority, if it's them they do it, if it's the landowner they get a call and they sort it
There was a nice new one few years back near Cheltenham call greenway lane it is covered totally in a foot of mud you don't even know there is a cattle grid there mud just washes off the lane from the hill.
