Working in East Kilbride all next week and this is close to my hotel, I hear differing things about it but all I am after is an hour spin after a day working with arsholes to relieve the stress.
Anything else close by as a better alternaitve or will this suffice my needs?

Its a great wee ride if you are local. Sub 30 mins but a few laps will have you grinning. Glasgow meetup ride there I think on a wed evening - worth a look on their page

Done a quick check on google maps, I can ride there in about 20 from hotel, a couple of laps should be just enough each night. Sorted, cheers Iain

Take care on the triple drop. The left hand line has a whacking great drop in it. Middle line and right line are fine.

I like it. But you do need to do a few laps to make it worthwhile

White101. Not sure if you know the area, whilst it will be very easy to ride to the braes from EK the ride back won't be quite so enjoyable, it's uphill all the way. There are about 3 different routes depending on where your hotel is. 2 of them (head towards carmunnock are country road most of the way). The other one is dual carriageway over the top of a hill.

The braes itself is ok for a few laps. Approx 3.5 miles round a lap which you can do in about 25 mins. Enjoy.

Will you have a car? If yes, do yourself a favour, and drive to milngavie and ride with GMBC, or down to ayrshire and ride with me n my buddies. Cathkin is dung.

Greg - in current trail conditions Mugdock is proper messy and Cathkin has drainage, so is not a muddy mess. I do agree that Fairlie Moor is much better but its a 40 min drive, and mugdock is 30.

OP, there will be GMBC rides at Mugdock Tue 7pm and wed 745pm. details here
