Any recommendations for a clipless shoe that can be worn in a casual office environment? Ideally with a relatively stiff sole so I can actually pedal the bike properly.

For reference I can wear a 5:10 Sleuth without raising a fuss. Something similar in appearance but with cleats is what I'm looking for.

I have a pair of Five Ten Hellcats that I use for riding to the pub. I think they'd fit the bill?

I do wish the cleats were a bit more recessed, though. They tend to tick and scrape on any non-flat surface.

I've had a pair of Chrome Kursk shoes for about 15 years now and while the times I need to use them are really limited, they are good.

the concept of those velosambas looks good (although most options seem to have a very un-british friendly white colour)

these ones on ebay, in black and at a very reasonable price...

if I've managed to link to the specific picture - look at the difference betwen the 2 shoes! thats horrendous, I wouldn't wear those if they were free and they are meant to be £120RRP? Are they fake? or is this the quality I should expect?

Velcro, boa/clicky straps, and any obvious cycling features (or exposed toes) arent going to pass the "work casual" test.

I'd say they're fake, adidas shoes are generally well made, certainly their running shoes are.

I was wearing my dark blue Rider Concept shoes (won from STW) while donating plasma and the nurse commented on how nice they look. A clipless black pair would be great. And I must say they are very comfortable too.

Giro Rumble? Other colours are available than the link rendering. I have black ones that I use for casual touring, not quite as stiff as I'd like for the 170 mile day I once did with them, but OK and feel like normal shoes to walk in.

I've only used mine with the Mallet dh pedals they were designed to be paired with so not sure how well they work with other brands of pedal but they're comfy, stiff and feel more like trainers than any other bike shoe I've used

I got some Specialized Cadet shoes from Rutland Cycles a few years ago for £6.

These look alright at a quick glance...

Those Adidas Velosamba are absolutely shit. The cleat plate pulls through the sole because the rubber is too thin.

Specialized 2FO?

Well mine have last two years without any problems or disturbance to the sole. So no, they're not shit. Possibly a tad warm.

Velosambas are possibly the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. I'm sure other people get on fine with them, they just don't suit my feet
